The NVQ Level 2 assessment training course for Passive Fire Protection workers/fire stoppers has been developed for proficient and skills passive fire stoppers who have enough proficiency and expertise in their sector. Also, this course is worthy for the learners who are capable of showing their expertise knowledge in passive fire protection, as per the National Occupational Standards
A proficient and skilled passive fire personnel must have the following skills:
- To proper use the access equipment such as a podium, scissor lift or tower with the safety parameters. Moreover, this must be accomplished with the required fire rating according to specifications.
This NVQ level 2 assessment course for fire stoppers must contain evidence that the learner demonstrated an obvious understanding of the required H&S benchmarks. Therefore, an experienced passive fire personnel must represent the proficiency and capabilities to perform the appropriate tasks with safety parameters, according to the general site guidelines.
To complete the Passive fire protection NVQ, a learner should be successfully perform any two of the following:
- firestop walls/floors using compound or fire batt and mastic
- apply intumescent coatings to surfaces using brush or roller
- install encasements around service pipes, columns or steel beams
- apply non-reactive spray coatings
- install cavity barriers
- erect fire-resisting walls and linings (partitions)
- erect fire-resisting ceilings
- install fire-resisting timber doorsets
- install fire-resisting ductwork systems
